On January 17, 2021, Canada’s Competition Bureau (Bureau) announced that CPL Interiors Ltd. (CPL) was fined $761,967 after pleading guilty before the Ontario Superior Court for participating in a criminal bid-rigging conspiracy under Canada’s Competition Act.

On January 6, 2022, the Competition Bureau (Bureau) announced that it had negotiated a consent agreement with Keurig Canada Inc. (Keurig) regarding concerns over allegedly false or misleading recyclability claims on its website, social media platforms, texts and logos for its single-use coffee pods (K-Cup pods).

On January 5, 2022, the Competition Bureau (Bureau) obtained a Federal Court production order to advance its ongoing investigation into weight loss performance claims made by NuvoCare Health Sciences Inc. (NuvoCare) relating to its WeightOFF Max!, Forskolin+ and Forskolin Nx natural health products. This follows a May 2020 temporary consent agreement between the Bureau and NuvoCare prohibiting the company from making certain weight loss claims pending completion of the Bureau’s investigation.
