The Competition Bureau and University of Ottawa’s Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC) will be co-hosting a one-day workshop on October 1st to explore the areas of e-commerce and online advertising.  According to the hosts, the workshop will include panel discussions on international trends and innovation in online marketing.

From CIPPIC:

“Co-hosted by the Competition Bureau of Canada and the University of Ottawa’s Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic, this workshop seeks to explore emerging business models in the area of e-commerce, as well as potential issues and concerns relating to online advertising.

The panellists, who stem from the public and private sectors, from academia to innovators in the industry, will bring in-depth insight and years of expertise which will undoubtedly instigate discussions on a myriad of digital and e-commerce issues. Areas of interest include international frameworks, the challenges of adequate disclosure in the digital world, as well as current and upcoming technologies and the opportunities and challenges they present.

All who are interested in this fascinating area are encouraged to participate and benefit from the cutting edge information that will be shared by our panellists on the current status and issues surrounding e-commerce.”
